With only 5 ingredients, this raw chocolate smoothie is dairy-free, gluten-free, and it comes together in no time!
I love smoothies. Like, really really love them. They’re a great breakfast on the run, a snack, a way to use up fruit and also… a great way to take care of a sweet craving. I’ve developed a knack for making healthy smoothies that basically taste like dessert.
This raw chocolate smoothie is a total lifesaver when those night time cravings sneak up.
Do you love chocolate as much as I do? You should get your hands on some raw cacao powder. Yes, it’s a bit pricy but one bag will last a really long time.
There are many nutritional benefits to eating raw even on occasion and this decadent smoothie is just one example of how you can sneak raw foods into your diet. Bananas, almond milk, raw nut butter and raw honey round out the ingredients for a totally healthy treat.
Too fancy? This smoothie is still healthy and delicious with regular, non-raw ingredients.

I’m a big fan of raw cacao powder, you can have your chocolate and all the associate health benefits that go with it!
This is the perfect healthy treat!
Healthy?. Yes! ANTIOXIDANTS. Also very satisfying.
I tried this, with regular honey and raw almond butter vs. peanut butter. SO GOOD! Thanks. And I also appreciate the gorgeous photos.
I’m so happy to hear you liked it! Thank you for the kind words :)
This was so delish. I had all ingredients so I was excited to see recipe. I would do frozen banana next time. I froze mine but not quite all the way. This taste like a milkshake. Yum. I am not eating dairy or meat or processed food so wanted to try some choclate recipes!
Hi Angela, I’m so glad you liked it!
This looks so good. I’m going to try to replace the honey with agave syrup. Because you know honey isn’t vegan right. I adore your blog by the way.
Yes, I know it’s not vegan :)
Where has this been all my life? Any excuse I can think of to have chocolate for breakfast, I will take. This has officially been added to the list!
I was looking for a easy cacao recipe and I came across this one – perfect. I changed it though, two tablespoons of cacao, one banana, one cup of milk, squeeze of honey. So good, thanks for the inspiration.
Should ice be added?
I didn’t add ice.
Delicious! Great pics :)
Hmm. This looks divine, but I *hate* peanut butter! I’m thinking maybe almond butter would be ok? Bc the almond milk…ill have to try. I was sold at the picture!

Yummy. I had to use a couple different food sources instead of the honey and I used bitter chocolate baking powder instead of cacao. But I’m in Heaven with these Smoothies!
Sounds delicious, I may substitute some of the banana with Avocado…
