This boozy peaches and cream milkshake will certainly bring all the boys to the yard. Or the kitchen.
You ever just have one of those days? I know you have. Where it feels like everything is going wrong. Friday was one of those days for me.
A 30 minute meeting turned into 5 hours. I didn’t get a chance to run all of my errands. My oven broke. MY OVEN BROKE.
This might be the first time I’ve missed apartment living. Where’s maintenance??? We have to fix this crap? Crap.
There’s only one thing to do on a day like this: ice cream. Make that two things: ice cream and alcohol.
This boozy peaches and cream milkshake is like a party in your mouth, and it takes the edge off those days. Bottoms up!
Boozy Peaches and Cream Milkshake
Ingredients
- 2 large very ripe peaches
- 1 cup full-fat vanilla ice cream
- 1 ounce dark rum, or more to taste
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Slice the peaches in half and remove the pit.
- With very clean hands, squeeze the juice and pulp into a blender (this will only work with a very ripe peach). Most of the skin will stay in your hands. Alternately, you can blanch and peel the peaches.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.

gorgeous pics – and recipe! love the orange-striped straws (which are not easy to find – i was looking for red/white ones and had to do mail order – for straws!)
I could guzzle this shake!
Savory Simple says
I found them at Crate and Barrel! Sur la Table has the red/white straws.

Jen, I’m so sorry your day was so crappy! I’m sure this boozilicious milkshake helped though :) when ovens break, it’s AWFUL. I remember when mine broke a couple months back, I cried. Literally. So terrible. But hang in there! I’m sure it’s fixable, like mine was, and before you know it, everything will be back to normal.

A broken oven?! That’s a tragedy indeed, I’m glad you have some ice cream to help you cope in the meantime – this milkshake looks fantastic!
Laura Dembowski says
Oooh, yum! I haven’t had a milkshake in a long time and this looks great. Sorry to hear about your oven. One of mine went out in January, thankfully we have a double oven. If you’re buying a new one, do a lot of research, I’m still not very happy with mine.

Sorry to hear about the bad day, but it definitely looks like this would make any bad day better. YUM!
