Nutella Cheesecake Bars are the perfect dessert! You won’t be able to stop eating them! I know I’m in the minority but I’ve never been a huge fan of cheesecake. It’s a bit too heavy for me. I love the flavor but a full slice is always too much. If it’s up to me, I’d much rather enjoy cheesecake bars or parfaits. Something smaller and lighter. These Nutella cheesecake bars are perfectly portioned treats that will make a wonderful addition to holiday
Try this delightful cookie with a dark roast coffee for an Italian-style treat. Being my own boss has been one of the most rewarding and difficult things I’ve ever done. I love having the freedom to make my own hours. Also, I hate having the freedom to make my own hours. I’m really bad at it. I am living in a pressure cooker and it’s a recipe for burnout. From day one I’ve been haunted by words a freelancer once said
Love digestive biscuits? These milk chocolate covered tea biscuits are just like McVitie’s brand, only better! They’re one of my absolute favorite cookies. Digestive biscuits are a wonderful treat I discovered years ago thanks to my friend Emma. I’ll never forget the day she handed me a mug of hot black tea topped with a bit of milk and a plate full of McVite’s digestives. I had never seen these British cookies before and the moment I dipped one into my tea
Do you have a favorite month? October is definitely one of my top picks. It’s far from perfect since the threat of winter and darkness always looms. But October by itself is lovely; temperatures start to cool and the leaves begin changing color. I’m enjoying the milder temperatures. I’ve worn my cherished Frye boots for the past 2 weeks and will be venturing to an orchid to pick apples this weekend. I might be lamenting the loss of light, but there’s no denying my love
These pine nut tahini cookies have a delicate, flaky shortbread texture and a sweet sesame flavor. Have you ever tried halva? It’s a sweet, sesame-based confection that can often be found at local candy shops or Jewish delis. Sometimes I see pre-packaged versions but you really want to find the homemade stuff. It’s rich, dense and wonderful. I love it. And when I first tasted these tahini cookies, halva immediately came to mind.
So this is kind of cool: I’m guest posting today over at Better Homes and Gardens! I adapted one of their lemon bar recipes to create grapefruit bars and I think you’re going to like them.
Lavender Vanilla Bean Palmiers are a simple yet elegant cookie. Only 5 ingredients! Make with fresh puff pastry or leftover scraps. I’ll just say this up front- I am aware that there are many people who dislike lavender in food and that’s quite alright! I promise you I will not force you to make these cookies. I, on the other hand, love using lavender as a subtle ingredient. It adds a very unique flavor.
These Dark Chocolate Chunk Rumchata Cookies are seriously amazing. People will beg you for the recipe! I should make it clear right up front that this recipe is in no way sponsored or endorsed by Rumchata. I just really like the stuff and it’s not the first time I’ve used it in a recipe. What can I say, I love adding booze to dessert. I’ve previously used Bailey’s Irish Cream, Kalua, Chambord… it just adds such a tasty, fun element
This chocolate lover’s cookie is perfect for holiday parties or Valentine’s Day! New Years Eve is upon us! For me, this is a time for reflection and celebration. And with celebration comes holiday parties and decadent food. I’m not sure what it is about this time of year that makes me crave cookies but they’re an absolute essential at all of my holiday parties beginning with Thanksgiving and ending with the new year.
Chai Spiced Pistachio Snowdrop Cookies will add an exotic twist to your holiday parties! What a strange, surreal, and freakish winter it has been so far. In less than one week Jeff and I are headed to Tucson, AZ for Christmas with his family and I cannot wait to get out of town. I feel distracted and unsettled. I’m tired. I’m also craving normalcy and my old routine and I know I might not get back there until the beginning of
