Pumpkin Pie Spice

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon ground cloves
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg (preferably freshly ground)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice (Optional, but recommended)

Instructions

  • Measure the cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and allspice (if using) into a small bowl.
  • Mix together with a fork or small whisk until completely blended.
  • Use immediately or store at room temperature in an airtight container.

Notes

Allspice has notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, making it a nice compliment to pumpkin pie spice, though you can technically omit it. I wouldn't run to the store and purchase it just for this recipe, though it's a wonderful spice to experiment with in both sweet and savory dishes!
